Gunnar Esiason is a rare disease patient leader, whose recovery from near end-stage cystic fibrosis thanks to a pharmaceutical breakthrough has motivated his desire to see cures delivered to the millions living with unmet medical needs. He is a joint degree MBA/MPH student at Dartmouth College and is passionate about early stage drug development, patient empowerment and health policy..
Outside of his academic work, he has consulted on clinical trial development, a real-world evidence population health study, and a cystic fibrosis-specific mental health and wellness screening tool. Gunnar has been a featured keynote speaker at top medical centers and health industry events, and also delivered the 2019 pre-commencement address at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Gunnar is the director of patient outreach at the Boomer Esiason Foundation, a writer, podcaster, dog dad, and an above-average hockey player, but below-average skier. His health policy opinions have been featured in US News & World Report, Newsweek, The Hill, RealClear Politics, and Morning Consult.
